 Ecuador is quickly becoming one of the world's hottest whitewater rafting destinations which is not surprising when you consider the fact that Ecuador has more whitewater per square mile than any other country in the world. The best part is that much of this whitewater can be easily accessed within a few hours from the capitol city of Quito.
Two of the most popular rivers are the Rio Toachi and Rio Blanco. Both rivers begin on the slopes of our western Andes, flowing in the direction of the Pacific Ocean through tropical cloud forest. Both rivers are home to a menagerie of bird species, including parrots, hummingbirds, toucans and cormorants, as well as river otters. However, there isn’t much time for wildlife viewing, as the next rapid will inevitably be approaching; both the Toachi and Blanco offer constant class III and VI rapids for the entire run.
Safety:
Safety is our priority. Our river guides are all experienced rafters and comply to either French or American river safety standards. We also provide workshops to our guides to keep them up-to-dated on new navigational and rescue techniques. We provide all of the neccessary equipment (life vest, helmet, paddle), which are licensed by Aqua Designs. Additionally, once our boats are in the water, radio contact with our support vehicle is constant. Finally, a saftey briefing will be held before put-in.
